Pastor Scott Taught on Faith
Our Scriptures came from Hebrews 11:1-8, V.32, and V.35
This is the Heroes of Faith Chapter. Faith comes by hearing and hearing the Word of God. We talked about our Faith coming by keeping our eyes on Jesus…asking Him to guide us through His Word, when we read it, and then reading it. We learned about Cain, who in faith offered a blood sacrifice-without blood there is no remission for sin. We talked about the men of old being justified not by their works, but by their faith. When we don’t have the answers Jesus is the ANSWER. When we are looking for the truth JESUS IS THE TRUTH!We learned about Enoch, who by faith was God’s friend who walked with him for 365 years before he was taken up…his son of course was Methusulah, the Longest Man ever lived whose name means “when he dies then destruction will come” and a year after he died was the great flood. We were reminded in Hebrews 11:6 that without faith it is impossible to please God. We must have faith to acknowledge and believe that God is who he says he is and we must remember that God does reward those who please Him. We remember faithful Noah who spent a span of more than a hundred years at God’s Word in front of a people that had never so much as seen rain. Imagine the Mockery. But Noah had faith and trusted God and did as God spoke and God’s Word never returns void.Abraham trusted God and left his city, his people, and his house and took his family and wandered around the desert in tents searching for the kingdom of God. Barak went out to battle but didn’t get the glory for it…they didn’t have Bibles so he was adamant at any cost to take God’s mouthpiece, Deborah with Him. These Heroes of faith serve as reminders that when we face trials and challenges in our life, and we will, God will be there with us. We must keep our eyes on Him and walk by faith, not by sight.
We had a blessed time of praise, fellowship, Bible Study and prayer. We love you, but more importantly, always remember:
JESUS LOVES YOU!
