Caiaphas was the one who had advised the Jewish leaders that it would be good if one man died for the people (John 18:14)

Tonight we were blessed to have Bible Study with Pastor Karen. John 18 sets the stage for the Crucifixion of Jesus. Here Jesus and his disciples were in a peaceful garden. That tranquility was shattered by Judas leading a detachment of armed soldiers and some officials from the chief priests and the Pharisees. They were carrying torches, lanterns and weapons and sought to arrest Jesus. In this chapter Peter denies Christ three times before the rooster crowed as Jesus prophesied. He was taken to answer before Annas who sent him to Caiaphas. The Jews then took Jesus to the Roman Governor Pontias Pilate who couldn’t even find a basis for the charge against Him. He offered them a choice according to their custom to release a prisoner for passover-Jesus, or the thief Barrabas and the people called for Barrabas’s release.

Our Bible Studies are an excellent time for us to come together in fellowship as the Body of Christ and grow in wisdom and the knowledge of the Word together as one body. We invite you to be a part of everything God is doing in us through us and to us at Set Free Church of the High Desert.

JESUS LOVES YOU!
