Simon Peter said to them, “I am going fishing.” They said to him, “We will go with you.” They went out and got into the boat, but that night they caught nothing.

This brings to remembrance the account in  Luke Chapter 5 when Jesus began His ministry and the disciples had fished all night and caught nothing and Jesus told them to cast their nets into the deep and they caught a multitude of fish. This time Jesus tells them to cast their nets on the right side of the boat and they caught 153 fish. Sometimes we cast our nets on the wrong side of the boat in our walks but Jesus can show us where to fish.

Then Jesus had breakfast with them..He broke bread and none of them dared to ask who He was for they knew it was the Lord.

Then Jesus Restores Peter. Remember Peter had denied Jesus three times. Peter probably thought it was over, but Jesus never gave up on Peter. Jesus asks Peter three times if He loved them and He told him…Feed my lambs, Tend My Sheep, and Feed My Sheep. He wanted Peter to understand that He needed to love Him more than anything else and as Christians we need to love Jesus more than anyone else. He commissioned Peter and Peter had a tremendous Ministry for the Lord as evidenced through the book of Acts. If we are called as leaders it is important that we tend the flock, and feed the sheep.

Join us next Wednesday night as we start an exciting journey through the book of Acts!
