Hello. My name is Jeremiah and this is my story. I was raised in church, by good Christian parents in a good Christian home, accepted Jesus as a kid but most of my life I really didn’t follow him. I had a career I loved and worked hard, but I did not put Jesus first and sin and compromise gained a foothold in my life. Pretty soon everything, my career, my possessions, even my good name were lost quickly to addiction. It took me years and some tough love for me to make a decision to change.
When I came through the gates of Set Free, I was nothing that “the world” could love. My hair was nappy and ratted with head lice. I stunk. My arms were tracked out from IV drug use, and I was so out of it I thought the Pastor’s quarters was the bunkhouse and I wandered in there looking for my bed. I wasn’t even able to participate for a few days, I needed to rest.
The staff at Set Free loved me with the love of Jesus. They didn’t cringe when they saw me, they didn’t embarrass me or expect me to be perfect, but rather loved me unconditionally even with my many flaws. Through Christ, I have overcome drug addiction, and even cigarette smoking, and I have a plan and a purpose in Him, serving at Set Free Men’s Ranch as a Chaplain and Head Overseer. Jesus says in Matthew 25:40 “… Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” By partnering with Set Free, you are doing unto even “the least of these”, helping to further the work of our King, Our Lord and Our Savior Jesus. Our ranches receive men and women (including children) from all different walks of life distressed by life’s crises, including substance abuse, alcoholism, homelessness, and total lack of self-discipline discipling them in Christ. The ranches allow participants to make a minimum sixty-day commitment to separate themselves from the world and its daily temptations and to begin to live the life that God desires for them. After the sixty days many participants stay longer to further their personal and spiritual growth. Some choose to bless out to second phase work homes, while others are blessed to find restoration and reconciliation with their families. This is a life transformation process and the men and women in our ranches receive a foundation in the Lord and learn the spiritual building blocks that will help them to be successful in their walk in the Lord which will help them to be successful in life as they continue to grow and mature in Christ. Will you help? Your financial support helps impact the lives of countless men, women, and children dramatically for the Lord. By partnering with us financially, you are a vital part of frontline ministry that reaches out to the lost, including those that the world considers “unlovable”, people like I was before Christ transformed me and set me free. You are helping to serve more than two-thousand meals weekly and provide homes to as many as one-hundred men, women, and children at a time. Your generous support helps this ministry to disciple these men and women in Christ. Your gift helps change lives! Many of our participants at the ranches receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior for the very first time. All donations are tax-deductable. We look forward to laboring together with you in Christ. Pastor Ron and I thank you so much for your prayers and contributions. God bless you.
